Our Mission: Tattoo Care with Impact

Our Story

Built For The
Ink. Not The Shelf.

Purpose-built tattoo aftercare. The first bar soap made specifically for healing tattooed skin.

Colby Colquitt, founder of Banger Tattoo Care — tattoo collector and creator of purpose-built tattoo aftercare soap

I Built The Soap That Didn't Exist.

My name is Colby. I am a tattoo collector — not an artist. 200+ hours in the chair over fifteen years across nearly every part of my body.

For all of it, the aftercare was the worst part. Not the needle. The aftermath. Antibacterial soap designed for odor control. Generic cleansers made for dishes. Products that had no business touching a healing wound.

Nobody had built a soap specifically for tattooed skin. I spent nearly a year formulating, testing, and iterating until I did.

That became Banger Tattoo Care.

Colby Colquitt Founder, Banger Tattoo Care

Fifteen Years Of The Wrong Soap.

The tattoo industry evolved in every direction over the last two decades. Artists are doing work that looked impossible twenty years ago. Studios run like real professional spaces. The equipment, the ink, the technique — all of it moved forward.

The aftercare recommendation did not move an inch.

Antibacterial soap. Fragrance-free lotion. A sheet of paper. That was the professional standard for sending someone home after hours of precision work on their skin.

"The science on how skin actually heals has moved significantly in the last twenty years. Nobody had built a soap that accounted for it. Not one made specifically for tattooed skin. So I built it."

What your skin needs during the first two weeks of tattoo healing is not an antibacterial agent designed for hospital surfaces. Your skin is not supposed to be sterile. It hosts billions of beneficial bacteria that are actively involved in the healing process. Stripping them with a pH 9–10 soap when your skin's natural pH sits at 5.5 disrupts the exact biological process your body is using to recover.

The Day 1 Bar was formulated around that reality. Sea buckthorn berry oil for skin barrier support. Jojoba oil because it is structurally closer to your skin's own sebum than any other ingredient. Fragrance-free, sulfate-free, cold processed. Every single decision made specifically for what a healing tattoo actually needs.

Then The Artists Found Us.

The Day 1 Bar launched as a full size 4oz bar for collectors. People who had spent years healing tattoos with products designed for body odor and kitchen grease and just accepted it as normal because nothing better existed.

Then something happened we did not plan for.

Tattoo artists started reaching out. They liked the product. And they started asking for something specific — a smaller version. Something they could hand to clients at the end of a session without having to explain anything. Individually wrapped, ready to go, one per client.

The soap solved two problems at the same time. The problem collectors had been living for years. And a professional handoff problem on the artist side that we had not fully seen until working artists showed it to us.

So we built the Banger Bars. Mini 0.4oz individually packaged bars designed specifically for artist to client handoff. And the Certified Banger Kits — complete aftercare with soap, balm, and printed instructions, pre-made and ready to hand off the moment the session ends.

The product line evolved because the people using it told us what they needed. That is still exactly how we operate.

The Banger Standard.

Fragrance-Free

No synthetic fragrance. No masking agents. Fragrance is the leading cause of contact dermatitis on healing skin. We eliminate the risk entirely.

Sulfate-Free

No sulfates. No harsh surfactants that strip the skin barrier your body is using to protect the healing wound.

Paraben-Free

No parabens. No preservatives that have no place on sensitive, healing tattooed skin.

Vegan Formula

Plant-based formulas. Every bar soap in the Banger line is vegan and cruelty-free.

Clean-Rinsing

No residue. No film. Just clean, calm skin after every wash. The bar format delivers a consistent, controlled clean that liquid soap cannot match.
