Our Mission: Tattoo Care with Impact
Built For The
Ink. Not The Shelf.
Purpose-built tattoo aftercare. The first cold-process bar soap made specifically to support healing tattooed skin.
I Built The Soap That Didn't Exist.
My name is Colby. I am a tattoo collector, not an artist. My talents have always come more from my mind than my hands—if I could draw, I'd probably be the one holding the machine. Instead, my background is in graphic design and creative problem-solving.
I have always been a non-stop idea guy. And my rule is simple: if I am going to build something, it has to be new, it has to be different, and it has to solve a real problem. After 200+ hours in the chair, covering nearly every part of my body, I saw a massive problem staring the entire industry in the face.
The tattoo aftercare market was stuck in an endless "ingredient war," fighting over who could make the best balm. Meanwhile, we were all still being told to wash our fresh ink with antibacterial soap designed for hospital floors and generic liquid cleansers made to strip kitchen grease. Nobody was fixing the cleanser.
So I spent nearly a year formulating the correction. That became Banger Tattoo Care.
Stepping Out Of The Ingredient Wars.
The tattoo industry has evolved in every direction over the last two decades. Artists are doing work that looked impossible twenty years ago. Studios run like highly clinical, professional spaces. The equipment, the ink, the technique — all of it moved forward.
But the aftercare recommendation was frozen in time.
Today, everyone is fighting a non-stop battle to the bottom over tattoo balms. The brutal truth is that there isn't a secret ingredient on earth that will make a new balm drastically better than the top 10 already on the market. The moisturizer isn't the problem anymore.
"While everyone was fighting over the lotion, they ignored the soap. I didn't want to make another balm. I wanted to solve the actual problem."
What your skin needs during the first two weeks of healing is not an antibacterial agent. Your skin is not supposed to be sterile. It hosts a microbiome that actively protects the wound. Stripping it with a pH 10 detergent when your skin's natural pH sits at 5.5 disrupts the exact biological process your body is using to recover.
The Day 1 Bar was formulated around that reality. Cold-process crafted with 42% olive oil to deliver fatty acids during the wash. Sea buckthorn berry oil for lipid barrier support. Zero antibacterial agents. I built this company because this soap needs to exist, and I know it will be used to heal millions of tattoos in the future.
Then The Artists Found Us.
The Day 1 Bar launched as a full size 4oz bar for collectors. People who had spent years healing tattoos with products designed for body odor and kitchen grease, and who just accepted it as normal because nothing better existed.
Then something happened we did not plan for. The artists stepped in.
They liked the science, but they needed it in a professional handoff format. Something they could give to clients at the end of a session without having to explain anything. Individually wrapped, ready to go, one per client.
The soap solved two problems at the same time. The biological healing problem collectors had been living with for years, and the professional handoff problem artists faced at the end of every session.
So we built the Banger Bars. Mini individually packaged bars designed specifically for artist-to-client handoff. And the Certified Banger Kits — complete aftercare with soap, balm, and printed instructions, pre-made and ready to hand off the moment the session ends. No assembling, no sourcing, no guessing what the client is using.
The Banger Standard.
Zero Antibacterial Agents
We preserve the skin microbiome. Antibacterial chemicals indiscriminately destroy the beneficial bacteria your body needs to heal.
100% Fragrance-Free
No synthetic fragrance. No masking agents. Fragrance is a leading cause of contact dermatitis on healing skin. We eliminate the risk entirely.
Sulfate & Paraben-Free
No harsh surfactants that strip the skin barrier. No synthetic preservatives that have no place on sensitive, healing tattooed skin.
Cold-Process Crafted
Our format retains 100% of the natural glycerin produced during saponification, drawing moisture to the skin with every wash.
Clean-Rinsing
No residue. No film. Just clean, calm skin after every wash. The bar format delivers a consistent, controlled clean that liquid soap cannot match.
